  • We’re co-hosting an Evaluation Workshop with NB-IRDT in Fredericton at the Wu Conference Centre! The Workshop has a 2 or 3 day option and will be facilitated by professional evaluator, Dr. Marla Steinberg. Collaborative Evaluation Planning – May 21st-22nd from 9am - 5pm. May 23rd will consist of two sessions: Logic Models, 9am - 12pm; and Indicators and Data Collection Tools, 1 - 5pm. Seats are limited so be sure to register soon!   • 87th L’Association francophone pour le savoir - Acfas UQO Congress, May 27th-31st, 2019, Gatineau, QC

  • The 2019 Annual CAHSPR (Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research) Scientific Conference, ‘When Research Meets Policy’, will be hosted at the Halifax Convention Centre in Halifax, Scotia from May 28th-31st, 2019. Healthcare leaders from Nova Scotia and across Canada talk openly about what they value in health services research and hear noted researchers explain how they make their findings helpful to decision makers. Abstract submission deadline was Jan. 18th, 2019.

  • 2019 KT Canada Annual Scientific Meeting is being held May 30th-31st in Winnipeg. The theme is 'Advancing the science of integrated knowledge translation'. The deadline to submit an abstract is Feb. 3rd, 2019.

  • The 11th annual Interprofessional Health Research (iHR) Day will be held on June 14th, at Horizon’s Saint John Regional Hospital. The keynote address, entitled "Some Like It APP", by Dr. Ma’n H. Zawati, Executive Director of the Centre of Genomics and Policy at McGill University, will explore how data collected by medical apps and wearable devices can unwittingly reveal much about your health, habits and even identity! Abstracts for iHRday can be submitted to the Office of Research Services until Monday, May 20th, 4:00pm by email to Katie.Holden@HorizonNB.ca. See the link to register.

  • The BRIC NS Primary Health Care Research Day will be June 17th, 2019 at Dalhousie University's Collaborative Health Education Building (CHEB) with the theme being "Using what we know: Implementing research into practice and policy". The deadline for abstracts for poster and oral presentations is April 18th, 2019 and BRIC NS will be offering their annual award for best student poster. Note that there is also an application for a patient bursary available. Full details can be found through the link.

  • ICHAA 2019 : International Conference on Healthy and Active Aging, Jun. 17th-18th, 2019, Toronto, ON. The abstracts/full-text paper submission deadline is Jan. 15th, 2019

  • RehabWeek 2019 will be held in Toronto, Jun. 24th-28th. The conference brings the entire rehabilitation technology community together - engineers, researchers, clinicians, and more. Early bird registration deadline is Apr. 15th.

  • We’ll be cohosting the 2nd annual Patients' Den: Patients Setting Research Priorities in Primary and Integrated Health Care Innovations with MSSU. This year’s event will be held at the Pavillon Léopold-Taillon at UdeM on Oct. 3rd. Be sure to save the date and stay tuned for further exciting details!

  • Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research (MMFC) Conference from Oct. 9th-10th at the Wu Conference Centre in Fredericton. The conference theme is “Ending Gender Based Violence: Harnessing Research and Action for Social Change”. Proposals for academic papers and posters or presentations from service providers and policy makers in all areas of gender-based violence should be e-mailed in English or French to fvrc@unb.ca by Apr. 29th, 2019.

  • Canadian Association on Gerentology Conference, Oct. 24th-26th, 2019, Moncton, NB

  • The Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN) National Conference 2019, 'Advancing the Health and Well-Being of Canadians. From survey and administrative data to sound policy' will be held in Halifax, Oct. 24th and 25th. The organizing committee, invites proposals for regular or poster presentations on topics relevant to health and well-being, but non-thematic proposals will also be considered. Data-related and methodological proposals are also welcome. Including a discussion about the policy implications of results is encouraged. See the link for full details and note that the proposal submission deadline is Jun. 14th. There is also funding available for student travel grants.

  • The Qualitative Health Research (QHR) Conference 2019 will be held in Vancouver, Oct. 25th-29th, 2019. This yearly conference focuses on qualitative research in health disciplines and is held in various Canadian cities every October.

  • 11th Annual NB Health Research Conference, “Using Research to Build a Healthier Society”, Nov. 6th-7th, 2019, Saint John, NB

  • The 2019 Children's Healthcare Canada Annual Conference, “Connecting Health Systems for Kids” will be Dec. 8th-10th, 2019 in Ottawa. The 2019 call for abstracts will be open from May 1 to June 16 and the conference will include a poster competition.

  • Horizon Health Network will be hosting Vision 2020: Partnering to Enhance the Care Experience – highlighting the following themes: Patient, Client, and Family Engagement; Information Sharing; Culture of Patient, Client and Family-Centred Care; and Quality and Patient Safety.. This national conference will be held in Moncton, New Brunswick on May 26th & 27th, 2020. This conference will bring together health care leaders from across Canada with an interest in improving patient, client and family centred care.

  • Postponed - the 2019 UNB Nursing Research Day, which was to take place on May 24th, 2019, has been postponed. It is hoped that this event can be rescheduled for the Fall, 2019.
